The NSW Arts Advisory Council (AAC) was established by the former Premier and Minister for the Arts in 2004 as a source of high level policy advice and comment on the arts.
It reports and provides advice to the Minister on the development of the arts and cultural sectors in New South Wales, issues affecting sustainability and artistic development, and new projects and strategies for the arts in New South Wales.
More specifically, the AAC provides input to the development of a cultural policy framework for New South Wales, advises and comments on current issues and future directions for arts and cultural development in New South Wales, and acts as a point of reference and guidance for the New South Wales Government in relation to the arts and cultural heritage of the State.
