Arts NSW administers the NSW Premier's Literary Awards. These awards, which are offered annually, honour distinguished achievement by Australian writers. In 2008, 11 prizes ranging in value from $5,000 to $20,000 will be open for application.
Conditions
Books, plays and scripts must have been first published or produced between 4 November 2006 and 2 November 2007.
In 1978 the New South Wales Government inaugurated the annual literary awards to honour distinguished achievement by Australian writers.
In 2008 nominations are sought for the following awards:
The Christina Stead Prize
The UTS Glenda Adams Award for New Writing
The Douglas Stewart Prize
The Kenneth Slessor Prize
The Patricia Wrightson Prize
The Ethel Turner Prize
The Play Award
The Script Writing Award
The Biennial Prize for Literary Scholarship
The Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW Award
The Gleebooks Prize
