2009 Rex Cramphorn Theatre Scholarship ($30,000)

The Rex Cramphorn Theatre Scholarship is valued at $30,000 and is designed to assist professional artists who have “completed a body of work that suggests an inquiring mind and an original voice”.
Applicants are asked to put forward a program of work and study, and demonstrate how it would assist them to develop a vision for future theatre practice.
Established on a biennial basis (in alternate years to the Robert Helpmann Scholarship for Dance), the Rex Cramphorn Theatre Scholarship was first awarded in 1993. It commemorates one of the most significant theatre practitioners to emerge from the renaissance of Australian theatre in the 1970s.
