2009 Women and Arts Fellowship ($30,000)

This biennial fellowship valued at $30,000, was established as a result of the Women and Arts Festival in 1982, and is given to a woman to assist her professional development as an artist. As well as providing financial assistance, the fellowship increases recognition of the valuable contribution being made by Australian women artists, and celebrates their creativity.
 
The fellowship may be used for professional research or to undertake a particular arts project which will benefit the professional development of the applicant. Imaginative and innovative proposals are encouraged and the guidelines are flexible with regard to the nature of the proposal for which the fellowship may be granted.
 
The fellowship may also be put towards further study or training, particularly for courses that are not readily available in Australia, or courses where the expertise gained might benefit other women working in the arts in New South Wales.
