Minister for the Arts Frank Sartor today announced more than $460,000 to boost access to the arts for students and teachers across NSW. Mr Sartor said the funding, part of the NSW Government’s ConnectEd Arts Strategy, would help support educational initiatives from 27 arts organisations.

 

"The Iemma Government is committed to ensuring that school students across the State have access to works by leading arts practitioners", Mr Sartor said.

 

In 2008 ConnectEd Art funding is offered under four categories including:

 

Access Grants - to provide subsidised tickets and travel to a range of arts events/activities;

Outreach workshop grants - to help deliver a range of arts workshops to students and teachers;

The Performing Arts Touring grants - to deliver quality performance programs to regional centres; and

Residential Arts Camps for Indigenous Students - NSW Government will deliver a residential Circus Camp for Indigenous Students in the Riverina region.
