Individual artists benefit from the arts infrastructure the state has to offer, but specific individual support is also available through a range of programs, fellowships, scholarships, awards and residencies.

Arts NSW’s assistance to individual artists and creative workers aims to provide them with support at crucial stages in their career path or recognise their achievement in ways that builds their profile locally, nationally and internationally.

Individuals can apply to Arts NSW for the following funding categories, eligibility permitting:

Creation and/or Presentation  
Quick Response
Aboriginal Regional Arts Fund
Fellowships, Scholarships and Awards

There are a number of organisations providing residencies for individual artists and Arts NSW also devolves funding to organisations to enable them to provide opportunities for individual artists. See the information on residencies and devolved funding below.

Aboriginal Regional Arts Fund

The NSW Aboriginal Regional Arts Fund is intended to support arts projects that celebrate and promote Aboriginal cultural identities in regional NSW and, by doing so, make the rich and diverse Aboriginal cultures of regional NSW more visible and accessible.More



Quick Response

Quick Response Project Funding supports unexpected artistic and professional development opportunities for individuals, groups and small to medium organisations.More



Creation and/or Presentation Project Funding

Creation and/or Presentation Project Funding supports arts and cultural projects, initiated by organisations or individuals, at any stage in their creative development and/or public presentation.More



Devolved funding

Arts NSW recognises the value of devolving some funding to arts and cultural organisations to support individual artists and arts workers, and priority arts development and audience participation activities at the local and regional level. More
