Arts NSW and Screen NSW Disability Inclusion Action Plan
Arts NSW and Screen NSW are developing a Disability Inclusion Action Plan in keeping with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014.
The Action Plan will outline the steps Arts NSW and Screen NSW will take to remove barriers and promote access to services, information and employment and promote the rights of people with disability.
The Action Plans cover four key outcome areas:
- Attitudes and behaviours
- Liveable communities
- Systems and processes.
The Action Plan will contribute to Arts NSW and Screen NSW commitment in supporting artists and arts workers with a disability to access available resources and programs.
The NSW Governments Department of Family and Community Services has published guidelines to assist public authorities, including NSW Government Departments and local councils, in developing Action Plans. As part of the process, Arts NSW and Screen NSW are undertaking targeted consultation with the sector, in developing the action plan and how it can best reflect the needs and opportunities across the arts in NSW.
We hope to have the Arts NSW and Screen NSW Disability Inclusion Action Plan finalised in early 2016. In the meantime, we invite you to download a copy of the NSW Department of Justice Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2015 – 18.
