Funds to build up regional art
Regional NSW arts and cultural organisations seeking funding for facilities upgrades, equipment for arts and cultural purposes or the preservation or repair of collections are invited to apply for capital project funding from the NSW Government.
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said the 2017 Regional Capital funding program will provide matched funding up to $60,000 for projects that improve the way communities engage with local arts and cultural facilities.
“Arts and cultural facilities, such as local galleries, museums and theatres, are important places where people gather to share and experience art and culture as well as chronicle and celebrate local history,” Mr Grant said.
“Regional Capital funding can be used for construction; equipment upgrades for facilities, such as auditorium seating and exhibition lighting; the repair and conservation of collections; or the digitalisation of collections for public access.
“The NSW Government is proud to support our State’s thriving regional arts and cultural sector and I encourage organisations to submit applications for funding.”
Applications for Regional Capital funding, for projects commencing after 1 January 2017, are open until Monday 5 September 2016.
Regional Capital funding is offered by the NSW Government through the Arts and Cultural Development Program, which in 2016/17 will provide more than $52 million to support artists and arts organisations across NSW.
