The regional arts network is unique to NSW. The network comprises 14 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) which service over 100 local government areas and more than 1.7 million people, providing a crucial link between NSW Government and regional arts activity across NSW.

Recognising the key role played by the RADO network in delivering strategic support for arts and cultural development activities in regional NSW, Arts NSW commissioned an independent review of the network. The review Report and Recommendations were prepared for Arts NSW by Lois Randall Creative Consulting and received by Arts NSW in 2015.

The Final Report recommends a number of measures aimed at strengthening the capacity of the network, including a targeted program of professional development, support to enable the transition to best practice governance structures, and enhancing partnership arrangements with local government.
